CTC Calculator
Calculate your in-hand salary, tax deduction, and monthly take-home from your CTC (Cost to Company).
CTC Calculator – Estimate Your In-Hand Salary from CTC
The CTC Calculator gives you a quick estimate of your monthly take-home salary based on your annual Cost to Company (CTC). It breaks down your CTC into monthly gross salary, estimated tax deduction, and Provident Fund contribution, so you get a clearer picture of what actually lands in your bank account each month.
How to Use the CTC Calculator
- Enter your Annual CTC (Cost to Company) in the input field.
- Click Calculate Salary Breakdown.
- View your estimated monthly salary, tax deduction, PF contribution, and final in-hand amount.
Formula Used
Monthly Salary = Annual CTC ÷ 12
Estimated Tax = Monthly Salary × 10%
Provident Fund = Monthly Salary × 12%
In-Hand Salary = Monthly Salary − Tax − PF
Worked Example
Suppose your Annual CTC is ₹6,00,000.
Monthly Salary = 6,00,000 ÷ 12 = ₹50,000
Estimated Tax (10%) = ₹5,000
Provident Fund (12%) = ₹6,000
Estimated In-Hand Salary = ₹50,000 − ₹5,000 − ₹6,000 = ₹39,000
A Note on Accuracy
This calculator uses simplified flat-rate assumptions (10% tax, 12% PF) applied to your full monthly salary, meant to give a quick ballpark figure. In practice, actual income tax depends on your tax slab, deductions, and regime (old vs. new), and PF is calculated on your Basic pay component rather than full CTC — so your real in-hand salary may differ from this estimate. For an exact figure, check your company's official salary structure or consult your HR/payroll team.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. Is the tax deduction shown here my actual income tax?
No, it's a flat 10% estimate for quick reference. Your real tax depends on applicable slab rates, exemptions, and the tax regime you choose.
Q2. Why does my company's PF deduction look different from this calculator?
Real PF is usually calculated on your Basic salary, which is a portion of your CTC, not the full monthly gross amount used here.
Q3. Does this include other deductions like professional tax or insurance?
No, this calculator only estimates income tax and PF. Other deductions like professional tax, health insurance premiums, or gratuity aren't included.
Q4. Can I use this for any CTC amount?
Yes, simply enter your annual CTC figure and the calculator will scale the breakdown accordingly.
